RICARDO SARRAZOLA

Producer and winemaker, has always been passionate about wine and its culture. Although he does not descend from a family of wine producers, he has shown very early an enormous curiosity for the wine world when, during family dinners, his father, a great connoisseur of wines, offered him wine tastings and allowed him to discover some of them. This passion ended up being determinant when the time came to choose a career path. He enrols in the oenology and viticulture course, in UTAD (Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro’s university), in Vila Real, being given the opportunity to get to know in loco several Portuguese wine-producing regions (under a harvest traineeship), like Bairrada, Douro and Alentejo.

After finishing his studies and already as an oenologist, Ricardo seeks to expand his experience to other countries and continents, like Australia, Uruguay, Switzerland and France (Bordeaux). The contact with other wine-producing cultures, revealing different approaches and ways of thinking the wine was crucial to his oenological training and enrichment.

In the aftermath of the diversified experiences lived, he is invited to be part of the team of oenologists of Herdade do Esporão, in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Alentejo, where he stays for two years. In 2020, Ricardo performs one of his dreams and decides to embrace a new project – Portugal Boutique Winery – starting producing wine in 3 great Portuguese wine-producing regions – Vinhos Verdes region, Douro/Planalto Mirandês and Bairrada.

DIOGO CARVALHO

Joined the PBW team as an Assistant Winemaker, bringing with him not only his passion for winemaking but also a solid experience in the commercial and sales domain.

His fascination with wine stems largely from his uncle, an enthusiast and wine producer in the Beira Atlântica region. This closeness provided him with the opportunity not only to appreciate a wide range of national and international wines but also to actively participate in the production process.

A graduate of the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Diogo pursued his academic journey with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, followed by a Master's degree in Enology and Viticulture. This path not only expanded his theoretical knowledge but also connected him with Portuguese masters, including notable figures like António Maçanita in the Alentejo and Luís Seabra in the Douro.

Diogo firmly believes in the magic and challenge of producing wines with minimal intervention, always seeking to create sensory experiences that captivate even the most discerning wine enthusiasts.
